The Tamiya Holiday Buggy, was release in December 1980. Hitting the market for those you didn’t have the budget for a Sand Scorcher ou Rough Rider. The vehicule was inspired by his “brother” chassis. Design for street driving as well as for offroad.

Unlike the Sand Scorcher or Rough Rider, Holiday buggy is full ABS plastic. Also transmission is equipe with a Mabuchi 380 motor and “open air” gearing.
Rear dampering operate by this thickness part of epoxy and metal universal joint transmit the power to wheel.

Even if it’s a low cost buggy, you can notice this very clever servo saver with the ties rods.
The body is amazing and cleary based as the real scale one. The Corsairs Stripper Dune buggy.
Driving this buggy is a vintage immersion experience. Returning in 1981 with an Acoms stick radio and a 6V battery is awesome. The gearbox is noisy but the car handling well for its age.
